Privacy notice

This notice explains what Fase Studio does with personal information. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who we are

Fase Studio designs, writes and maintains websites for owner operated businesses in the United Kingdom. Fase Studio is a trading name of Thinkbox Studios (UK) Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17409614, whose registered office is Unit 82a, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE. What we collect when you contact us

The contact form asks for your name, your business name, your email address and, optionally, a short description of what you do. That is all it collects and all it sends. The message is delivered to our inbox by email, and a copy is written to a log on the web server so that an enquiry is never lost if email delivery fails. That log is not reachable from the internet, is read only by us, and is cleared once the enquiries in it have been dealt with.

Why we are allowed to hold it

Because you asked us to get in touch. The lawful basis is your request to take steps before entering a contract, or our legitimate interest in replying to a business enquiry. We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as it is commercially useful and then delete it.

Who else sees it

Our email delivery provider processes the message in order to deliver it. Our hosting provider stores the website. Neither uses your information for anything of their own. We do not sell, rent, share or trade your information and we do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask for.

Cookies and analytics

This website runs no advertising and no advertising trackers, and it never will. We do use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, which needs to store a small identifier on your device. That is the only non-essential storage on the site.

Nothing is stored until you say yes. The banner appears on your first visit with the two answers given equal weight, because a refusal that is harder to click than an agreement is not a real choice. Say no and no identifier is written, no analytics data is recorded, and the site works exactly the same. Your answer is remembered for six months and then we ask again. To change your mind sooner, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will return on your next visit.

Google Analytics is configured with advertising features and personalisation switched off permanently, so your data is not used to build an advertising profile. Google acts as our processor for this. We see visit counts and page popularity. We do not see who you are.

Client websites we build

Where we build and maintain a website for a client, that client is the controller of any information their site collects and we act as their processor under a written agreement. Their own privacy notice governs their visitors.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to us holding it. Email us and we will deal with it within one month. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
